Poor health is a major cause for an enlarged prostate. An enlarged prostate may be exacerbated by low quality diets and unhealthy lifestyles wrought with stress, worry and a lack of exercise. Most men take special care about their diet and exercise only when they are young. These habits often disappear once they get older. This might one of the reasons enlarged prostates are more common in older men. Your doctor will be able to suggest a healthy diet and exercise regimen so as to minimize the damage already done to the prostate gland.

The prostate plays a key role in the reproductive mechanism of a man. It is a tiny gland, the size of a walnut, found in the groin area of a male. This gland is positioned just under the urinary bladder, above the rectum and encircles the urethra. The prostate gland plays a major role in the production of semen. The urethra is a tubular organ through which urine passes out of the body. It is possible to reach the prostate gland through the anus for medical examination by a physician.

Dog throwing up with stomach pain?

I have been bringing my dog to the vets for about 5 months now, trying to figure out what is wrong with him. I have tried two different vets and I’m on my third now. My dog has a lot of stomach pain. He lays on the floor and he will growl for no reason or bark really loud, then jump up and run around till the pain stops. I asked the first 2 vets to look into it and they just said that it was an enlarged prostate. So we got him fixed and it seems like it’s worse now. I went on a 3 hour drive to see my parents and he couldn’t stop barking and growling from the pain the whole way there. Now he is throwing up bile/stomach acid at least 1-2 times a week. Help me. I don’t know what’s wrong with him and I feel like if I have a better idea then the vet will listen to me. I have looked for signs of flea’s, works and stomach ulcers, but I can’t find anything wrong with him which will make the vets investigate!

Doggy in pain?

My dog is having a lot of pain in his abdominal area. During the day he will stop what he is doing to look at his stomach and growl at it. The first couple of days that we had him, it wasn’t so bad. Then it got to the point where he would jump up and run around while growling. I brought him to two different vets. The first said that he has an enlarged prostate and when I told the second vet about the prostate, he said get him fixed and it should go away. They both refused to do blood work and look into it any further. Well, I got him fixed a month and a half ago and it’s still happening. It’s not making his jump up and run around anymore, but it’s still happening. Any ideas?
