Do you need Enlarged prostate treatment?

Article by Heinz Golz

The primary question that you have to ask yourself when with the subjet of enlarged prostate treatment, is whether or not you should treat the situatuion at all.Once the situation has been examined and identified by your doctor ( an important step to make sure that the signs that you are feeling are due to an enlarged prostate and not anything else), you need to make up your mind whether or not the situation is annoying you. If it is not, then for a lot of men, the solution is not to take care of it at all but simply to let your doctor check the situation for you every six months. If, nevertheless, you are troubled by the symptoms, or your doctor feels that there is a chance of developing complications, from the problem, then enlarged prostate treatment should be sought. The first treatment will be medicine treatment. There are a number of drugs currently in use and others under active testing and development. Generally speaking, drug treatment will not cure the situation but it may give a relief from the conditions of an enlarged prostate. You will need to talk about medicine treatment with your doctor.A lot of patients in this age group, for which an enlarged prostate is common, will already be on medicine treatment for other diseases. Your doctor will also talk about the range of side effects which enlarged prostate treatment drugs carry with them.If you do not feel fit for medicine treatment (or you doctor does not think that medicine treatment will be effective in your case) then the next step is to consider minimally invasive surgery. There are a range of operations available these days, some of which can be taken on a day-patient basis, and some of which will require a short stay in hospital. In usually minimally invasive procedure is planned to shrink the prostate gland or to remove prostate tissue from the vicinity around the urethra and thus ease constriction on the urethra and reinstate the flow of urine from the bladder. If these forms of treatment are not suitable, or have been tried and proved ineffective, then enlarged prostate treatment will be a surgery. Two usually performed surgeries are the TURP and TUIP both of which can be carried out laparoscopically or using robot technology and require to stay in hospital between 2 and 3 days. In other cases, especially where the prostate is remarkably enlarged, conventuionalopen surgery may be performed with hospitalization typically lasting about a week.

Question by david t: Hey, I need help on getting 3 diagnosis for this case study?
Jenny was born with what appeared to be an enlarged clitoris, although neither her parents nor the doctor questioned the abnormality. Now, at 13 years old, Jenny’s girlfriends are developing breasts and having menstrual periods, but she is experiencing none of these changes. In fact, her voice is deepening, she is becoming muscular like the boys, and her enlarged clitoris is growing larger. On physical examination, she had no ovaries, no uterus, a blind vaginal pouch, a small prostate, a penis, descended testes, and hypospadias (urethral opening low on the underside of the penis). She had a male musculature, but no body hair, facial hair, or acne. Her genotype was confirmed as 46, XY, and blood work showed a high-normal level of testosterone and a low level of dihydrotesterone.

I Need Help With My English Pointer?

My pointer is 5 years old and has recently been to the vet because of not eating, weight loss, arched back and trouble walking and we were told that he had an enlarged prostate. The doctor squeezed the gland and put him on antibiotics and he showed great signs of improvement within the first couple of days and returned to normal heath thereafter. He was back to his normal self for two and a half months and just last night his health dropped dramatically. We let him out this morning and he had major trouble walking and as the day goes on he keeps getting worse. He cannot walk and he has not gone to the bathroom. He will eat with no problem. He does not cry\whimper or show any signs of being in any pain other than not walking. If anybody could please tell me what I can do for him until I can get him to the vet tomorrow?!?!?! Also if anybody has experienced anything like this please let me know what occured before, during and what the outcome was.

Need help with Antibiotics?

Ok, I need to know what kind of antibiotics do I need to treat what I believe is what I have. I am no doctor or nothing but I believe I have a urinal infection and probably an enlarged prostate.

I have a hard time to urinate sometimes there is mild pain. I’ve even had unwanted discharge. Which really freaks me out. I hope is not BPH.

I believe all of this comes from my extremely high libido which I could not control until now that I am worried about my condition. I know I need professional help, but the problems is that I know about my problem and I know what they are going to do! They will drug me to mess up my nervous system to keep me calm and stuff. I do not want that! I don’t want to become one of their regular costumers. I want to have what I had before all this! I want to control MYSELF without nerve drugs.

Need insight on lab results?

My biggest concern is lymphoma. I am being seen by my primary, and endocrinologist due to a thyroid nodule, and a neurologist. I’m trying to educate myself to help find answers. I’ve tried researching elevated B12 and the only things I could find said either Hepatitis or some cancers. My Hep tests (and liver enzymes) are negative/normal ranges. These labs were ordered by my neurologist because I currently have an Idiopathic Autonomic Nervous System Disorder due to sensory loss in feet and ankles according to him. (I won’t see him till after first of year) Other symptoms are low BP; bad itchy skin – lower legs, behind knees, perimeter of armpits year round, rest of torso in winter months, loss of appetite, fatigue, pain beneath/behind collarbones (for @ 6 months). Also have a solid nodule (was complex until after FNA) on thyroid along with smaller cystic nodules. Do not have Hashimoto’s antibodies. Have had an enlarged inguinal lymph – right side – for over 1 year, and for at least a week, enlarged lymph node right side – above voice box and under tongue.
There are some from 3 months ago listed for comparison reasons.

Test – 9/26/08 – 12/02/08 (ref value)
