Detected in its early stages, prostate cancer can be effectively treated and cured. Like other cancers, the cause of prostate cancer is not known; it appears to be more common in African American men and men with a family history of the disease. Prostate cancer is normally a slow growth cancer that can take years before it becomes deadly.
The prostate gland is located directly beneath the bladder and in front of the rectum. About one man in six will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime, but only one man in 34 will die of the disease. Prostate cancer is the third most common cause of death from cancer in men of all ages and is the most common cause of death from cancer in men over 75 years old.

Men, for some reason take care of their bodies on the outside than on the inside. They go to the gym, lift weights and do other exercises that will give them a great physique and physical appetence. But why do a lot of them neglect their inner bodies? This may be one of the reasons that men come down with diseases that are often easily preventable with a little knowledge. As men, we need to do a little more research and have an understanding of what we can do to protect our inner bodies.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men. At firdt the symptoms of the disease are asymptomatic; for this reason it is commonly referred to as the silent killer. Prostate cancer has very few early symptoms and those such as trouble urinating or painful ejaculation are also symptoms of much less serious disease such as enlarged prostate.

If you have prostate cancer, are concerned about getting it, or if you’re looking out for the health of someone you love, this article can help. Prostate cancer is normally a slow growth cancer that can take years before it becomes deadly. The prostate is a small, walnut-sized structure that makes up part of a man’s reproductive system; it wraps around the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body – because of this can cause various urinary problems.
Like other cancers, the cause of prostate cancer is not known; it appears to be more common in African American men and men with a family history of the disease. In Portland Oregon, there is a three-year Oregon Health & Sciences University study; leaders hope to come up with an exercise program to benefit men dealing with prostate cancer who are on testosterone-lowering medications. Many men, especially those later in life have made the decision with their doctors to simply watch and wait.

During my early 40′s I quite suddenly began to experience pain when ejaculating. At first I thought it was a temporary infection but I never returned to normal. After recent medical checks I discovered my prostate had slightly enlarged (though no cancer) so maybe this has led to the pain/lack of any kind of “force” during ejaculation/reduced ejaculate/no orgasm. Now not surprisingly I have much less desire + I can hardly be bothered to have sex. Can I rectify this problem or is it just the ageing process? I do not have any problems achieving an erection .

As men get older, it just seems to be a matter of time before their prostate starts giving them trouble and affecting their health. By the time they reach retirement age, most men will have experienced hypertrophy of the prostate, a condition in which the prostate gland grows putting increased pressure on the urethra. This condition leads to difficulty urinating and increases the risk of bladder infections as well as other types of kidney damage. Thankfully, there are many foods out there that can help offset any potential prostate problems if you choose to include them into your diet. Many of these prostate friendly foods are probably already part of your diet.
