What to do if you have a weak bladder?

The other night when I was sleeping with my girlfriend I wet the bed. It happened two nights in a row so I went to the doctor and supposedly I have an enlarged prostate. It isn’t cancerous or anything but it is causing me to urinate occasionally when I sleep..but I digress. Since I had wet the bed twice my girlfriend went out to a drug store and purchased two large cases of front folding adult diapers for me to wear. She says to just wear them but I feel a little silly – I mean I would look like a baby. Should I do it or no. I am really confused.

Overactive Bladder or Enlarged Prostate?

I’m a 26 year old male and for the last few months I’ve noticed an increase in the amount I urinate. I usually need to urinate about every 1. I can hold it in but most of the time feel like I need to go. I feel that I am emptying out my bladder when I go to the restroom but still get trickles of urine coming out a little later. Along with the urination, I’ve been experiencing dry mouth. I’m not diabetic (I got checked 2 months ago). I have the feeling it may be overactive bladder but I have control and also think it may be an enlarged prostate but I have no trouble with the flow and I’m pretty young for that. Does anyone have any clue what this might be?

Infection of the Bladder

The bladder is connected to the kidneys by two tubes called ureters that carry urine into the bladder, where it is stored until you pass it into the outside world through a single tube called a urethra. An overactive bladder is a condition that results from sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscle in the wall of the urinary bladder. Overactive bladder is also referred to as urge incontinenceand is a form of urinary incontinence (unintentional loss of urine). An infection of the bladder is one of the more frequent sites of infections in humans.

A Healthy Bladder is a Happy Bladder

The healthy bladder is an amazing organ; it removes the vast majority of excess liquid from our body (liquid is also lost through things such as sweat, tears, and bowel movements) and can hold a large quantity of liquid before it needs to be emptied. A healthy bladder is shielded by a protective lining that helps block the effects of irritants in the urine from damaging the bladder wall. As men age the prostate increases in size and urinary flow is often affected.
