It is known that men produce a male hormone called testosterone, which is also the most important chemical in their body. Men also produce a very small amount of the female hormone estrogen. As a man ages, his amounts of active testosterone will decrease. The ending result is a higher level of estrogen. Some research studies have shown that when there is a higher amount of estrogen, it might promote more growth of cells in the prostate, which later results in BPH. There is another theory that suggests that when dihydrotestosterone accumulates within the prostate, cell growth is also promoted.

Is there new medical procedures, new pill to cure an enlarged prostate?

Enlarged prostate symptoms rarely manifest before the age of 40. For some men, symptoms might not even occur at all. However, the condition called BPH or enlarged prostate affects almost 90 percent of men in their seventies and eighties, while more than 50 percent of men who reach their sixties experience symptoms.

This question is basically for Physicians and Surgeons or anyone who has gone through this ailment. I have a benign enlarged prostate. Is there a laser treatment that would shrink the enlarged prostate, without open surgery?

i’m looking for natural ways to reduce this problem. diet, exercise, whatever tips, whatever helps. i’m not really looking for website information; i’m looking for what has worked for you or someone you know.

also, is it a fact once enlarged the prostate can be reduced in size or not? if so how besides surgery? diet improvements? exercise? losing weight? please help.

One may feel that there are not a lot of options for enlarged prostate patients, but as a matter of fact, more and better treatment options are being discovered by the day. Thanks to modern technology, different techniques are being developed and improved in order to handle different kinds of prostate enlargement conditions.


It may be an age-old affliction, but that doesn’t mean we have to stick with outdated treatment options for enlarged prostate. Traditionally, an enlarged prostate would be treated with physical therapy and painful, invasive surgery. In the past, these methods sometimes came with significant health risks.
